“Two Friends,” writer and illustrator: Hoda Hadadi which was published in Iran in 2008 and later in Italy and France received the Bologna New Horizon Award 2010 and the Belgrade Grand Prix in 2009 and more. This work is her most significant statement on the relationship between females and their connection to nature, marking the beginning of a path she continues to follow. The book is illustrated by collages of leaves, seeds, and twigs. Throughout the story, the narrator employs all five senses—hearing, seeing, smelling, touching, and tasting—in a quest through the forest, discovering small things and ultimately forming a complete friendship with another female. This book celebrates the senses, nature, and a simple, heroine-free feminine story.
